…when the Dayton Dirt Collective opened its doors in May 2008, they offered opportunities to a much wider base of local talent and fans than the prevailing venue array at the time would allow. For the past two years, the club sought out and brought in a diverse blend of touring acts, not to mention giving opportunities to those here in Dayton as well. Unfortunately, after a shift in structure this past fall, the Dayton Dirt Collective issued a statement last evening announcing they will be closing their doors. From Shelly “GladGirl” Hulce:

You made Dayton Dirt Collective a success for nearly 2 years! (and that is equal to 10 years in Dayton time.)The DDC space is officially history as of Sunday (last night).
We are sad but equally excited about new projects that are on the horizon! Stay tuned!This was the time to make a responsible choice and end with integrity.
We have left all our bills paid, our obligations met and our relationships in good standing with each other and the community. In today’s world, that is saying A LOT!
This was not a failure by any means, it is the end of a season.
Now the collective members move on to make new dreams and passions materialize.
The positive ripples of the DDC remain deep and wide.We love you all.
